If you enjoy good beer with lots of character and flavor and never seem to be satisfied with the commercial beers available and their prices you should consider homebrewing. Besides being easy and fun, homebrewing allows you to drink fresh beer and experiment with different ingredients to create unique one-of-kind beers.
The initial investment to get started brewing is less than $100.00 and if you already have a large 10 quart pot the initial cost is less than $50.00. To create a 5 gallon batch of beer takes roughly 2 hours, yields about 2 cases (48 bottles) and cost approximately half of commercial beers.
For those who have never made beer before the process is not diffcult. Here is a quick overview of how to make your own homebrew.
- Steep grains for 30 minutes. (as seen in picture 1)
- Add dry and syrup extracts (as seen in picture 2)
- Bring to a boil – start timer for 60 minutes (as seen in picture 3)
